Music at the Market: Ron Renninger
Please join us in welcoming Ron Renninger to the Music Tent at the West Milford Farmers Market this Wednesday, 8/9 from 4pm to 6pm.
Ron Renninger, a veteran of the 1960’s Greenwich Village music scene, found early success as a teenager in the 1960’s after landing a recording contract with his first band. He is a prolific songwriter, having written over 500 songs, and found success composing music for primetime network TV shows and becoming a sought after studio musician in the NYC recording circuit. His unique finger style playing and expressive baritone vocals breathe life into lyrics that are both deeply personal and yet universally relatable.
In a globe trotting career spanning five decades, Ron has performed at countless venues including the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, The Bottom Line Club, London's Royal Albert Hall, Japan’s Holland Village and NY’s legendary Folk City. He has shared the stage with such greats as Chuck Berry, David Bromberg, John Hammond Jr., Richie Havens, Lucinda Williams and Jesse Colin Young.
Ron has released seven critically acclaimed CDs, the latest of which (“The Man Who Became A Song” 2016) recently spent several months on the national Roots Music Contemporary Folk Music Chart.
Ron’s singing and songwriting has been heard consistently over the years on many film and primetime network TV shows.
Ron currently makes his home in New Jersey.
